Craft Day & Two Summer Reading Programs
The library started off the summer with a book drawing. The library staff drew a name out of our book basket for a child to win a book. Our book winner was AnnMarie Milam. We will draw a name each month. Any child wanting to enter, you may come by the library and place your name in the basket.
On Monday June 5th children grades K-5th came and worked on crafts with Lisa Nelson & Karla Fultz. Twenty one children attended craft day. The craft we made were flowers out of foam. Our next craft day for this age group will be Monday, July 3rd.
Tuesday’s summer reading program started June 6th with storyteller John Jobe. John is from Oklahoma and has a home over in Mountain View where they perform at the Ozark Folk Center. John told stories and sang songs such as Wing-Wang-Waddle and Yummy. The children really had a good time. We had approximately 50 children attend.
We had a special guest on Thursday. Brian Kinder with Kindersongs. Brian is a professional storyteller from Little Rock , AR. He did a live music performance and sang songs such as I Like being a Kid. He did a very good performance. We had approximately 40 children attend.
The next reading program will be Tuesday June 20th with Lisa Nelson doing the story and Karla Fultz doing the craft. We hope to see you there.
