ESSIE THE BLUES LADY
DEC 1 2007
Essie the Blues Lady will present a free concert at the Faulkner County Library, Saturday December 1st at 7:00. The concert will take place in the meeting room at the library, 1900 Tyler St. The library circulation desk closes at 5:00 so patrons will enter on the west side of the library (where the meeting room is). Signs will be posted to direct patrons to the concert. Essie, the Blues Lady, has been picking and singing heavily influenced B.B. King blues tunes on her guitar ever since she was a teenager, and attests she would “rather play her guitar Ruckus than to eat!” Determined to do her part in keeping the blues alive, Essie shares her love for the music with audiences of all ages, tickling them with her funny but still serious lyrics. As winner of the 2003 Over 40 Revue, a performer at the 2002 and 2003 UNCF Telethon, and as a featured artist at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in 2004 through 2006, Essie, the Blues Lady, appears mostly as a one-woman show with full-band sound. The concert is free and open to the public. Free refreshments will be served. For more information contact Sarah at the Faulkner County Library, 501-327-7482 or .
